Women leaders urged residents to participate fully in politics: Deaconess Motunrayo Tijani
On Friday 2nd November 2018 Women Groups in Ojokoro LCDA were enlightened through the office of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation at the groups’ meeting held at the council secretariat in Ijaiye where food items were given out as a form of family support.
The Chairperson of Ojokoro Local council Development Area Deaconess Motunrayo Tijani has advised women in the council on the best way to keep up the family conveniently irrespective of the income made by the family. Mrs Tijani assured the women of continued government support and enjoined them to desist from wasteful expenses that could affect the growth of their families.
The Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Alhaja Basirat Ojugbele speaking to the women at the event urged participants to support the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forth coming elections by collecting their permanent voters card and participate fully in all campaign activities when called upon.
“We need to be patient with this government because the past administration at the centre has really done a lot of damage to the economy which our great party is making frantic efforts to redeem and its clear that there will be light at the end of the tunnel”. Let us all vote for our party APC and Babajide Sanwoolu and all other flag bearers of the party across board”, she said.
On the other hand, the Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Florence Lawal urged the women to ensure and maintain a cleaner environment and support Private Sector Participation (PSP) in the area of environmental sustainability. “You will remember that just this last Friday, our chairman Hon. HID Tijani called a stakeholders meeting with the PSP operators where we all made our challenges as regards waste disposal known and I am glad adequate measures towards effective service delivery has been put in place,the PSP is now fully back to operation in Ojokoro”, Lawal said.
Present at the event were APC Women Leader in ‘Ojokoro Mrs. Bola Are, Director Ministry of Education; Mrs. Rosiji , Alhaja Oluwa; and host of other women party stalwarts and residents of Ojokoro LCDA.
