
UKRAINE FC ISLOCH SIGNS OJOKORO PLAYER
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA Hon Hammed Idowu D. Tijani has expressed his delight as one of the players discovered and sponsored for trials in Europe during the “Football Talent Hunt” organised by Ojokoro LCDA has been signed on professional contract to join FC Isloch, a first division Belarusian football club in Ukraine.
Hon. Hammed Tijani while expressing absolute joy and satisfaction said it was a dream come through for the player to be signed to a Belarusian Premier division clubside.
He said “ Many people thought we were joking when we embarked on the football talent hunt for the youths of Ojokoro, but to the glory of God, we have achieved success as some of our players have been signed by foreign clubs on professional basis.
“Seven players were taken to Europe for trials, one has been signed while other clubs have shown interest in the remaining six. We are expecting positive response from the other football teams, not only in Ukraine but other teams across Europe” the Council boss added.
Hon TIjani, while addressing Adegbola Oluwaseun, the player signed on by the Belarusian clubside, he appealed to the player to be a good ambassador of Ojokoro and never forget his roots as he is to project the Council’s image wherever he finds himself.
The player expressed his outmost joy on the support given by Hon. Hammed for the youths, particularly on his signing by the club and therefore promised to be a good Ambassador by enhancing the good image of Ojokoro LCDA.
Hon. Otule Davies, the Supervisor for Agriculture and social services, congratulated the Council boss for his laudable effort and also appealed to him not to relent in his efforts in empowering youths of Ojokoro.
Hon. Oyekunle Oyetunde, the Councilor representing ward C, while giving the vote of thanks assured the Chairman of total commitment from the player also thanked him for making his dream come through.
The event was graced by the players Guardian, Legislators some Executive and Management team and the coach.
