Road Constructions: Ojokoro Council Boss, HID Tijani, Olotu, Meet Constituents ahead of Project Commencement, Seek Total Cooperation for Successful Execution
In an effort to ensure the successful execution of four different impending road construction projects, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID), and Hon. Olotu Emmanuel (Oxygen), the Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Ifako-Ijaiye II, held a meeting with stakeholders and residents of Taiwo Street in Moshallashi, Orile-Alagbado area of Ojokoro. Their primary objective was to secure the community’s cooperation and discuss the terms and modalities involved in the projects. HID Tijani stressed the necessity of collaboration, recognizing the associated costs, particularly as three additional roads are slated for construction in the LCDA.
HID Tijani appreciated the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu for always attending to Ojokoro’s needs while giving a thumbs up to the former Assembly Member and the former commissioner, Hon. (TPL). Olanrewaju Rasheed Makinde and Hon. (TPL) Salako who commenced the journey to this transformation taking place Taiwo Street presently.
During the meeting, Prince Jamiu Taiwo raised concerns regarding compensation and the road’s size, especially regarding burial grounds along the setbacks. Meanwhile, Chief (Mrs) Ramota Adegoke commended HID Tijani’s administration for its facilitation of the project and pledged support by offering to bury her deceased relatives behind her building once construction commenced.
Additionally, the community highlighted the pressing issue of miscreant activities in Taiwo, urging government intervention to ensure safety alongside development efforts.
HID Tijani expressed optimism about the project’s potential to boost the local economy and enhance community facilities, acknowledging that the construction had been long overdue but expressing satisfaction that it’s finally alive. He clarified the compensation process, emphasizing that individuals must prepare necessary documents and liaise with the appropriate authorities as the council is not in a position to provide compensation directly.
Hon. Olotu Emmanuel (Oxygen) reiterated that the road’s size had been carefully determined for public benefit, featuring two lanes and one parking lane. This statement was affirmed by Alhaji M. A. Kazeem, the Community Development Committee Representative, who cited numerous meetings with the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) with the help of the Ojokoro LCDA officials that led to a reduction in the road’s width to its present proposed structure.
Among the attendees were prominent figures such as the Orile-Alagbado Community Development Association Chairman, Mr. Bamigboye Adesina, Prof. Alelamile Akanni J, Chief Jubril Tijani, Deacon Ademiluyi Samuel, Mrs. Fakayode Bolanle, L/Evang. M.M Ayinla-Fakayode, Mr. Olumakinwa Oyekola, Mr. Taoheed Tijani, Archbishop (DR) G.A Faleye (JP), Oyekola Adeniyi Julius, Mr. Femi Olawale Babatunde, Mrs Oyekola Idowu, Mrs. Kehinde Eniola, Mrs. Ademuyiwa Balikis, and Mrs. Afusat Adeyemi. On the flip side, Hon. Jelili Oseni; Ojokoro LCDA APC Party Chairman, Hon. Coker Oladipo, Vice-Chairman of the council, and Hon. Tunde Oyekunle, Leader of the Legislative arm of the LCDA, Comrade Kolajo Omisore and the HOD Agriculture and Rural Services; Mrs. Akonye E.O were also present at the meeting and reaffirming HID Tijani-led administration’s commitment to the project’s success.
