The wife of the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Deaconess Motunrayo Tijani, today played host to some pupils of public Primary and Secondary Schools within the LCDA today, as the annual “Spelling Bee” competition was held at the Council’s secretariat complex.

This year’s edition of the competition as usual, came under two categories among pupils of both public Primary and Secondary schools within the Council Area.

In her welcome address at the occasion, Deaconess Tijani advised the pupils to be more committed to their education in order to be good ambassadors of the LCDA and also to justify the investments of their parents on them.

Also, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (aka H.I.D) in his goodwill message, assured the pupils of his administration’s relentless support for the academic development of all youths in the LCDA, irrespective of their parent’s social and financial status.

He said, “this administration is keen to the success of every student within the LCDA, be rest assured the sky is the starting point for you all”. 

In the keenly contested competition, Master Abdulrazak Mustapha  of Gbeleyi Primary School 1, Oko-Oba clinched the first position, while Lawal Adeshewa of Gbeleyi Primary School 2  and Okechukwu Obinna of Saviors Primary School emerged as first and second runners up respectively.

In the Secondary School category, Miss Usman Faith of Ijaiye Ojokoro Senior High School emerged champion, followed by Robert Peace of Ijaiye Housing Estate Senior Grammar School, while Quadri Ayomide  of Akinyele Alakuko Junior Secondary School Ijaiye took the third position.

The Head of the Department of  Education, Ojokoro LCDA, Mr. Adesanya Moruf appreciated the kind gesture of the Council boss and his wife for hosting the annual competition, as he promised to make sure the winners and runner ups are tutored thoroughly in making sure the LCDA is ably represented at the state level.

The occasion was witnessed by top Officials of Ojokoro LCDA and representatives of the District Education Board as well as Teachers from the various participating schools.
