OJOKORO LCDA CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY : NURTURING THE FUTURE GENERATION WITH ENTHUSIASM AND SUPPORT

Children all over the world today celebrate Children’s day and Ojokoro LCDA was not left out as the Chairperson of the Local Council Development Area, Deaconess Motunrayo Tijani through the Education and Library Science Department hosted Pupils of both Primary and Secondary within the LCDA.

In her opening remarks, Deaconess Tijani emphasized the importance of nurturing the young generation. “Today, we come together to celebrate the joy and potential of our children. They are the future of our community and our nation. It is our collective duty to provide them with love, guidance, and opportunities to succeed. Let us continue to work together to ensure every child in Ojokoro LCDA has a bright and promising future,” Deaconess Tijani said.

Today’s celebration is a reminder of our duty to provide you with a happy atmosphere at both home and school.

Deaconess Tijani elucidated further by highlighting some of the strides this administration has been giving out to support the children with various resources such as provision of G.C.E and Jamb forms annually to students who wish to further their studies in institution of higher learning , Renovation of New Oko-Oba Primary School in order to make the environment conducive for learning, and encouragement through events like the annual spelling bee competition, Anti Cultism campaign etc.

This year’s Children’s Day celebration was marked with vibrant activities, including a colourful match past and a cultural presentation. These events showcased the talents and creativity of our children, highlighting the rich heritage and diversity of our nation. The match past demonstrated discipline and unity, while the cultural presentation instilled a sense of pride and cultural awareness among the children.

The match past which was highly competitive had
Agbado Ijaiye Primary School II taking first place, followed by Gbeleyi School II in second place and New Oko Oba Primary School in third position.

While In the cultural presentation, Community Primary School secured first place, Gbeleyi Primary School II came second, and New Oko Oba Primary School placed third.

The event was well attended by Pupils and teacher of Agbado Ijaiye Primary School II, Gbeleyi School II, New Oko Oba Primary School, Community Primary School, Supervisor For Education Barr Ogundele Emmanuel, Special Advisor on Information and Public Relations, Kenneth Olatunde, Director Education and Library Service, Mr Morufu Adesanya Human Resource Officer, Mrs Akran Layode Elizabeth, Council Treasurer, Mr Olusegun Bankole, Second Signatory, Mrs Adesanya Olayinka amongst others.
