OJOKORO COUNCIL BOSS SETS NEW RECORD, BRINGS HAPPY MOMENT

Appreciation, shouts, songs of joy and hope in the mouths of the people of OJOKORO, saying that our dear County is becoming one of the best in terms of Social welfare as HID Administration affects their lives positively today, by giving relief materials freely to cushion the effect and allievate poverty with the supply of various food items, such as : Rice, Yam, Beans and Garri to residents.

The strategic goal of this programme is to reach (7000) seven thousand vulnerable households which includes widows, visually impaired individuals, the physically challenged and other members of the community in the Local Council Development Area with staple food items,” Hon Tijani said.

Also, through the Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) department, over seventy (70) women and youths who participated in seven-days vocational training just concluded which covers : production and packaging of Liquid Soap, Insecticide, Make-up/Make-Over and Gele tying, Fabrics design and Catering received relevant equipments to enable them set up small scale busineses which will boost their daily income and improve their means to livelihood.

As if that was not enough, young people who participated in a seven-days intensive computer skill acquisition programme based on Graphics and Web Design were given thirty (30) units of brand new Laptops freely to assist and facilitate learning process, engagement in discovery and breaking new grounds for academic purposes, multitasking while learning through which some of them can engage in legitimate online businesses instead of fraud amongst other benefits.

Moreso, cash palliative/ empowerment of One hundred thousand naira (100,000) were also given to some individuals to support their various businesses.

Mrs Oseni Abiodun who is one of the beneficiaries of the programme said ” We don’t know how to thank our Chairman, Hon Idowu Tijani for this initiative, I must say it is one of the best because, when a man is well fed, he can then proceed to pursue his career meaningful” .

“This is the fulfillment of one of the promises we made to assist our people cope with the present challenges brought by subsidy removal nevertheless , we have not disappointed our people and we promise to do more. The programme is set not only to alleviate poverty but to assist young and new enterpreneurers get their footing in business world, boost their Capital based, understand how to compete in an healthy manner, make gain and reinvest into the same business or new discoveries without bankruptcy” Hon.Tijani respond to the appreciation of the people.

Security wise, the Administration is presently providing fuel subsidy palliative in transportation to all the security agencies working within our LCDA, such as the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Security Corps (LNSC) . These security agencies shall continually be provided with free fuel, in order to ease their movement on effective security surveillance across various communities in our LCDA , therefore parents and guidances are advise to warn and encourage their kids never to indulge in criminal actives and it’s like.

The Council boss also hinted that there is going to be provision of free basic health care in all the six Primary Health Care (PHC) centres, to the people for seven days. These basic health care include treatment of malaria; High Blood Pressure screening with medication where necessary; Diabetes screening; treatment of cough and other related illnesses. All these treatments will be given freely.

The event was a crowd pulling one, yet orderly in such a manner that people were awe struck by the organisation of the program and effective assess to the supplies without delay of any kind; as well as the VIP treatment given to the recipients.
