The incessant problem of flooding at Obadeyi area on the Lagos/Abeokuta expressway will soon be a thing of the past.
This is the promise made by the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (H.I.D) on Monday, 3rd September, 2018, while welcoming Officials of the Federal Ministry of Works, led by the Director of Works in the Ministry, Engr. Adedamola Kuti, who were on inspection visit to the Obadeyi canal at the expressway.

The Council boss said he had written series of letters to the Lagos State Ministry of Works at Alausa, Ikeja, which he believed had eventually led to the inspection visit made by the Federal Ministry of Works Officials.

Hon. Tijani took time to explain the causes of the incessant flooding of the area, particularly during the rainy season to the Federal Director of Works, with a view of finding a lasting solution to the challenges being faced by the residents of the affected area.

In his response, Engr. Adedamola Kuti promised to consult with the contractor handling the rehabilitation of the road, Julius Berger Plc , for professional advice on how to curb the problem of flooding, which had sacked some residents and also affected commercial activities in the area.

It would be recalled that the problem of flooding which has become incessant on the Lagos/Abeokuta expressway, particularly at Obadeyi, Ajala and Casso areas in Ojokoro LCDA, had led to loss of many properties and lives in the past.
Some residents of the area who spoke under the condition of annonimity commended the efforts being made by the Council Chairman at ensuring that their plight become a thing of the past.
