
OJOKORO COUNCIL BOSS HAILS GRADUANDS, PRESENTS CERTIFICATES
The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) issued certificate to graduands during the graduation ceremony of trainees on Vocational skills Acquisition Programme held at the council secretariat April 1st 2019.
The Graduands totaling over two hundred received their certificates after completion of various vocational skills ranging from Bead making, Gele tying, Catering Services,
Hairdressing , Event Decoration, Cosmetology, Photography, Fashion Designing, Households and Soap making.
Speaking at the event HID congratulated all graduating students for their doggedness and perseverance through out the program. He said his administration is poised to engage youths in meaningful ventures that would better their lots. He was particularly happy to roll out another set of enterpreneurs which according to him will contribute to the economic growth of the LCDA with self sufficient men and women.
“These skills will enable you all to fend for yourselves and families and in turn benefit our community. We want you all to make good use of all that you have learnt. This administration will once gain see how we can also assist you on how to start your business as we have always done in the past”. HID said.
In his address, to the participants,the Vice Chairman Ojokoro LCDA Hon. Sesan Shobande who also doubles as the Supervisor for Education advised the graduands to reciprocate Government’s gesture by replicating the acquired skills into profitable ventures and ensures that the skills acquired are imparted onto others.
On her part Mrs. Agona Patience, The Assistant Director representing Agency for Mass Education, further implored the graduating students to improve on the knowledge acquired during the programme. In her words “Do not abandon the skills you have learnt , go out there and make proper use of them for the good our’
She also advised them to come together and form alliance, build strong business network which will enable them to progress faster than they imagined.
It would be recalled that the LCDA in December 2018 empowered over 170 men and women with working tools and take off grants for their various businesses.
The programme ,which was organised by the Education department under the Adults Vocational Training programme was graced by party stalwarts,Community leaders and other stakeholders in the lcda.
