LGSC OFFICIALS VISIT OJOKORO LCDA: EMPHASIZES ON STAFF WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT

Hon. HID Tijani, Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, along with the council’s management and staff, warmly welcome officials from Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) during their official visit today.

In his address, Hon. Tijani expresses gratitude for the LGSC’s regular visits, emphasizing their critical role in ensuring staff welfare and boosting productivity.

Also, the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) Chairman Hon Kamal Bayweu admonished the staff to ensure that there is increment in productivity thereby causing shoot up in Internal Generated Revenue.

He stressed further on the need for staff to be punctual and regular at their various point of duty.

Mrs. Oluwatosin Adegun, Director of Admin & HR at the Local Government Establishment and Training Office, representing the Permanent Secretary, discussed continuity on the ongoing training for stagnated staff and announced additional training sessions for officers later in the year.

She stressed the importance of resilience among all staff members each time there is intra/inter transfer within the local government Council Secretariat .

Lastly, she encouraged the local government to honor retiring members to inspire those still in service.

Mr. Sedeton Ogabi, Director of Recruitment, Discipline, and Exit, also representing the Permanent Secretary enlightened the staff on retirement procedures, stating that if you want to leave service voluntarily, give six months notice haven spent ten years as a pensionable staff or pay back three months salary to the coffers of government with evidence of payment submitted.

He stressed further by saying anyone under ten years will give one month notice of retirement or pay back a month salary.

In his vote of thanks, the council manager, Mr Adeyemi Adebola assured the monitoring team of plans to celebrate more retiring staff and thanked the chairman for his unwavering commitment to staff development and welfare.

The meeting was attended by Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo for Ikeja, Hon. Hakeem Gbamgbala for Lagos Island, Hon. Olubowale Sosimi for Ikorodu, as well as Permanent Secretaries and Directors. Executive committee members of the LCDA, Management team and NULGE Team.
