COVID-19: OJOKORO COUNCIL CHIEF APPEALS TO RESIDENTS.

Residents of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area have been urged to comply with the Federal and Lagos State governments’ directives on stay at home order, to contain the spread of Corona Virus.

The Council’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani made the appeal while featuring in a live radio programme on Grajos FM at Alagbado on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

Hon. Tijani, popularly known as H.I.D, disclosed that both the Federal government and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu are making frantic efforts to contain further spread of the ravaging Corona Virus pandemic, also known as COVID-19, which has spread to some states in Nigeria and already claimed two lives in Lagos State.

The Council Chief further disclosed that his administration, through the Council’s environmental health department has embarked on disinfecting public places in the LCDA, with emphasis on markets and motor parks and other major areas.

He urged people of the LCDA to adhere strictly to government’s directives on regular hand washing and use of sanitisers, keeping social distance and staying at home, which he said is for their own interest.

Meanwhile, Hon. Tijani has assured the people that distribution of stimulus packages by his administration will commence on Friday, April 3, 2020 to complement the Lagos State government’s relief packages.

He said that Community Development Associations (CDAs), Traditional heads (Baales) and religious leaders will be involved in the distribution of the stimulus packages to vulnerable people in their various communities, in order to avoid unwarranted gathering that may cause spread of the Corona Virus pandemic.
