
COUNCIL BOSS URGES STUDENTS AND YOUTHS TO SHUN SOCIAL VICES
As a means of stemming the tide of cultism in our society, the executive chairman of ojokoro local council development area, Hon Hammed idowu D Tijani who was represented by the chief of staff Hon Jamiu Odebiyi has embarked on a holistic anti cultism campaign which took place at the council’s secretariat.
Hon HID decried the alarming rate of cultism in our society,he was driven by a passion for the younger generation and the need to guide them in taking decisions that will affect their life positively.
The council boss pleaded and advised the students not to join any secret society because of the detrimental consequences.
While addressing the parents, HID charged the parents with the responsibility of looking after their words.
In his words “ Parental responsibilities is a key solution to the menace. Parents must endeavor to visit their children in schools regularly, to avoid keeping bad company “
Present at the event was the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon Sesan Sobande who also urged the students and youths to shun abuse of drugs and cultism as youth today are tomorrow’s leaders.
Also at the event was the DPO Oko Oba , CPS Kingsley who was represented by DSP Pius Ayodele who stressed the importance of education as the key to success and appealed to them to be of good courage in pursuit of their future goals. He also urged them to shun cultism and report any useful information to appropriate authorities.
The facilitator for the program, Mr Femi Emmanuel also beseeched the students not to join any cult , he also explained the deer consequences attached of being a member .
