COUNCIL BOSS SEEKS ABSOLUTE SUPPORT OF JANKARA ORISUNMBARE TRADERS.
The Executive Chairman of OJOKORO lcda Hon Hammed Idowu D. Tijani, has expressed his dissatisfaction towards the uncooperative attitude of Orisunmbare spare parts market,jankara, Ojokoro for not adhering to the rules and regulations of the council as regards indiscriminate parking.
Hon Hammed while addressing the marketers stated that the present administration since assumption of office in 2017 has been supporting the marketers by providing social amenities and ensuring peaceful and conducive environment for their businesses.
Hon Hammed Tijani said the council at this point will no longer accept tariffs not being paid by the marketers but rather must adhere strictly to the unified Lagos State tariffs rates as stipulated by Law as from January 2020.
He emphasised that Marketers must have a solid Memorandum of understanding with the council which they can agree upon to foster the payment of the tariffs .
He said “if we want the progress of the community ,tariffs must be paid to boost the growth and development of the community.
While shedding lights on the happenings at the spare parts market, Hon Hammed said he wants easy movement of cars within the community, hence cars should not be parked unnecessarily along the roads and at unauthorized points,stressing that such vehicle would be tolled away by the appropriate authority.
He further opined that cases of cars being burgled in Jankara market should be prevented,stressing that he doesn’t want such reoccurrence anymore. Hence drastic measures have to be taken on security purpose.
Responding,the chairman of the market Alhaji Quadri, was full of appreciation to the chairman and his team for always supporting the marketers without hesitation.
He pleaded with the chairman to over look the shortcomings of the marketers as this is one of the major problems they are facing within the market.He however assured the chairman of the marketers unalloyed support from time to time
The Supervisor for health,Hon Nosiru Busari, while buttressing the dissatisfaction of the council’ on the gridlock at Jankara Market said the marketers needs to be reorientated especially on Akinbo Adeniji road, urging them to desist from parking on the road as they hinder the movement of cars to various destinations within the community’
Hon TIjani further noted that the Council is willing to assist the marketers as they are both partners in progress and the council is a responsive government.
Engr Afolabi the head of administration while giving the vote of thanks commended the market executive and the council for reaching a conclusive agreement . He said for the council to perform its duties diligently, revenues must be paid diligently and accordingly.
Present at the event were Mr Samuel Onipede, Secretary to the local Government, Hon Abdul Azeez Osho, leader of the House and some other Executive and management members,Executive members of the spare parts market,babaoja general and other stakeholders.
