BETTER HEALTH : OJOKORO COUNCIL BOSS INAUGURATES LGHA COMMITTEE, PROVIDES ALL SUPPORT FOR FUNCTIONALITY
By In a bid to ensure his constituent members get adequate medical intervention from the State Primary Health Care Board / Agency (SPHCB/A) and the National Healthcare Development Agency regarding all health and medical challenges of his people, the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (HID) has inaugurated Local Government Health Authority (LGHA) committee at the council secretariat on Wednesday.
The LGHA committee according to the council boss is saddled with the responsibilities of supervising, periodic evaluation, monitoring and reporting of health activities and challenges at all the grassroots and to see to all activities that concern the Basic Health Provision Fund (BHCPF) for the benefit of the LCDA. Noting that the committee was established under section 11 of the health act 2014.
In his address, “this committee will not work in isolation and you shall work with direct support from the State Primary Health Care Board / Agency (SPHCB/A) for implementation of the National Healthcare Development Agency’s (NPHCDA) guidelines. We expect you to also provide technical support and monitoring for the SPHCB approval”, he said.
Speaking on his administration to ensuring that Ojokoro constituents and residents do not fall prey of the evil people who grow their riches in the sale of fake and expired drugs. He further empowered that committee to see to the extinction of such medicine and drugs out of all patent stores in the LCDA.
“Now that fake drugs are across some of the cities, you are to ensure that medicines are purchased from the PHCs and accredited patent stores and distribution channels. These among others are what the government is expecting from this committee”, he added.
HID Tijani has further thrown his weight behind the committee and assures them that all logistics needed for the effective functioning of the committee will be made available for them at all time.
The Chairman of the LGHA committee is Dr. Malomo Oldayo Abayomi while Dr. Ogunyemi Riyike is the secretary of the committee while Dr. Omotayo Dehinde Emmanuel, Alhaji Muyideen Adewale Kazeem, Alhaja Bola Adu, Mrs. Gbadamosi Janet and Alhaja Sekinat Funmilayo Bello are members respectively.
Also present at the event is the leader of the legislative arm of the council, Hon. Abdoulazziz Osho, the council Supervisor for Health, Hon. Busari Nasiru, Barr. Kofoworola Quadri, Mrs. Bukola Bankole and a host of other special dignitaries were present.
