APC MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION: STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS COMMEND OJOKORO COUNCIL BOSS

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (H.I.D) has been commended for his efforts at ensuring successful conduct of the ongoing nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressive Congress (APC), particularly in his jurisdiction.

The commendation was given by members of the Lagos State Registration Committee, led by the Chairman, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Ruwan- Godiya, during a courtesy visit to the Council Chairman in his office, on Wednesday, 17th February.

According to Dr. Ruwan-Godiya, the Committee members were in Ojokoro as part of their duties to monitor the party’s membership registration/revalidation exercise all over the state.

He said with the report recieved from the party’s membership registration/revalidation Supervisor in the LCDA, Mr. Sanjo Ogunmoyede, the exercise has been going on smoothly, with the Council Chairman giving every neccessary logistics support to ensure that the exercise is successfully conducted.

“We are highly impressed with the reports we have received so far, particularly with your efforts at ensuring that our great party become more stronger in the state, with the registration of more members at the end of this exercise”.

“Lagos State, as the centre of excellence, can not afford to fail in this exercise, particularly where we have the national leader of our party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Honourable Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as the hardworking governor of the state, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, with your support as the Chairman of this Council” said Dr. Ruwan-Godiya.

He added that since democracy can not survive or grow without political parties, therefore, all efforts must be made to build the APC to an enviable standard to become a role model and the leading political party, not only in Nigeria, but in Africa generally.

The Committee Chairman also lauded the party’s membership registration/revalidation Supervisor in the LCDA, Mr. Sanjo Ogunmoyede for his impressive and excellent performance, saying that the exercise is being carried out according to the rules.

Mr. Ogunmoyede, who had earlier briefed the State Committee members on the conduct of the exercise in Ojokoro LCDA, called for the provision of more registration materials, as he stated that more people are willing to join the party through the ongoing exercise .

While welcoming the State Committee members into his office, the Council boss, Hon. Hammed Idowu Tijani thanked them for commiting themselves to the success of the exercise, particularly by taking their time in going round to monitor the exercise throughout the state.

He urged them to provide more registration materials in Ojokoro LCDA, as he promised to mobilize more people to join the APC in the LCDA.

Among other members of the Committee with the Chairman on the visit were, Hon. Ambali Abiodun; Barr. Wasiu Banjo; Prince Tilewa Sijuwade and Hon. Abiodun Mafe.

Two other members, Chief Anthony Ogah (Secretary) and Hon. Isiaka Ibrahim, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, were said to be on special assignments outside the state at the time of the visit.

The Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, who also doubles as the Chief of staff to the Chairman,Hon.Jamiu Odebiyi and the Council’s Head of Public Affairs Unit, Mrs. Bankole Bukola were also present during the visit.

It would be recalled that the membership registration/revalidation exercise of the All Progressive Congress (APC) commenced nationwide on Tuesday, 9th and is scheduled to end on Thursday, 25th February, 2021.
