2021 BUDGET: OJOKORO LCDA TO SPEND N3.4 BILLION

The Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani has presented a budget of N3.4B for the year 2021 to the Council’s Legislative House for consideration and passage into law.

The appropriation bill; christened “Budget of Consolidation” is to consolidate on the developmental strides of the Hon. Tijani’s administration, considering the number of projects and programmes executed by the administration from 2017 till date.

The Budget Presentation took place on Monday, 1st February, at the hollow chamber of the legislative arm at the Council Secretariat in Ijaiye-Ojokoro with the few invited stakeholders in attendance, in line with COVID19 protocol.

According to the Council boss, “the Budget size for the financial year is put at Three Billion, Four Hundred and Seventy-Nine Million, Three Hundred and Ninety-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty-Three Naira and Sixty kobo (#3,479,397,543.60).

Speaking on the budget and plans targeted at consolidating on previous achievements, Hon. Tijani emphatically assured that more dividends of democracy will be extended to all and sundry, as every available resources will be Judiciously utilised.

“We assure you of more dividends of democracy as all funds generated will be judiciously spent for the development of Ojokoro, the land of prosperity”, he concluded.

Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Abdul-Azeez Osho, who received the document on behalf of other Councillors, assured the Council boss of speedy consideration of the appropriation bill, as he stated that its implementation will bring comfort to the people, once approved.

“We shall begin the approval process on the 2021 Budget and ensure it’s speedy consideration, as this will bring comfort to our people”, Osho said.

He further appreciated all the stakeholders at the presentation of the budget, on behalf of his colleagues in the legislative House.

Stakeholders present at the brief but colourful presentation ceremony, include APC party leaders in the LCDA; former Chairmen of the Council, Alhaji Hassan Ajeigbe, and Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO); member representing Ifako-Ijaiye at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. James Adisa Owolabi who was represented by Alhaji Debola Akande; Hon. Rasheed Makinde, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, represented by Mr. Tunde Rufai; religious leaders,
community leaders and a host of other prominent people in the LCDA
